Deloitte Fantasy Football: Two views, two weeks in
By Brian Resnick - June 28, 2010
It’s been two weeks since the start of the World Cup and our Deloitte Fantasy Football tournament; two weeks full of exciting games on the pitch and two weeks full of fun competition with our colleagues around the world. It has also led me to form two perspectives on a host of items related to Deloitte Fantasy Football. Here are just a few…
The good news: Since my entry last week, I’ve moved up nearly 300 places in the standings.
The bad news: I still have over 1,300 people ahead of me, including some very vocal members of the Global Brand team.
The good news: My Fantasy Football team is having more success than the national team from France.
The bad news: There are 64 people from France that currently have more points than I do.
The good news: It’s not too late to start a Private League; you can set one up for friends and colleagues, and just use scoring from the Knockout stage of the World Cup.
The bad news: More leagues for me to join likely means more leagues for me to lose in.
The good news: When the Knockout stage begins this Saturday, so does double scoring – more points in all categories means more chances to improve your standing.
The bad news: …or fall farther behind your colleagues on the Global Brand team.
The good news: Over the past month our Deloitte Facebook page has seen a threefold increase in fans, now reaching 74,000 people – a spike no doubt attributable to corresponding promotion of Deloitte Fantasy Football.
The bad news: I’ve lost 5 of my Facebook friends since I replaced my profile picture with the logo of my beloved US National Soccer Team.
And just one final bit of good news: You can reply to this entry with a post of your own. We want to hear what others around the world are thinking about the competition. We’d love the “assist”!
Brian Resnick is the Global Brand & Visual Identity Leader for Deloitte. Much like Lionel Messi, he is quite short, fancies striped shirts, and has failed to score a goal in the World Cup.

I've never participated in a fantasy league before. So when I heard about Deloitte Fantasy Football league i was excited yet unsure on how to really play. I must say you guys did a really great job with the league site functionality and features. I love the experience so far. I just hope Fernando Torres can start scoring goals so I can move up a bit in the league.
